Finance brokers and especially mortgage brokers have a reputation of being ‘against customer needs’. In fact I would go as far as to saying the people who I know who have used a stand-alone mortgage broker would describe them as ‘thieves in suits’.
On the whole though mortgage brokers are offering a great service, they give us first time buyers the opportunity to be able to purchase that first house or for the more experience home buyer, that house of a lifetime. Mortgages are generally a stable financial product and compared to products like PPI they are pristine in their appearance.
Our advice, as always to customers looking to utilise the services of a mortgage broker, read read read. A mortgage is all about the small print, get down and dirty into the nitty gritty.
